When Small Town Girls, Hit the Streets of Chicago

So I will not indulge and give away all the juicy details of our trip, but I have a few giggles for you!

Today Celesse and I hit the road to Chicago, and yes I can officially say we are true Southeast Missourians!  God Love Us, Chicago may never be the same……I almost feel as if I could star on my "Big Redneck Vacation".

Funny Quotes of the Day:

Front Desk:  Hotel Services
Me:  Hi I am in room …..and my shower will not turn on!  I think it is broke!
Front Desk:  Laughing….Laughing some more.  Ma’m you need to pull out on the lever and turn!
Me:  Sighhh  I never thought of that!
Front Desk:  It’s okay it can be Tricky

Lesse:  Mom, look look!
Me:  Look at what..
Lesse:  Look there, I think he is a homeless man….I have never seen a homeless man.  (pointing at the man)
Me:  Don’t point, walk faster, oh Geshhh we are doomed!

Lesse:  Mom, I just gots to have my picture taken in front of that.
Me:  Looking at the window in front of me, What do you have to have your picture taken in front of?
Lesse:  Right here, it’s a News Station  and I have never seen one before!
Me:  Giggling….okay, and I snapped the picture!   After all it was her first time of seeing a “news” station!

We finished off our day, by getting lost in our hotel!
Me:  walking up to the hotel clerk…can you tell me how to get to my room
Front Desk:  Hands me a map, laughing (same hotel clerk as the shower issue) draws me a map to my room!
Me:  Giggling, and explaining it is just all too confusing.
Front Desk:  Are you the gal that couldn’t figure out the shower?
Me:  Oh my, Yes!
I lost it there, just all giggles!  Poor fellow!  He may put a warning out for me!

We are having a fabulous time, cannot wait to share all things we discover tomorrow!
Have a Blessed Night!

On the Streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma

I know you all have been patiently waiting to hear how my Momma goes Solo in Tulsa trip was…well it was FABULOUS!  Can I say it louder, can I scream I wanna go, can I tell you how much fun I had in Tulsa, Oklahoma…..and I am going to add how affordable Tulsa can be for the perfect get-away.

I can definitely say Tulsa is a unique to many of the big cities that I have visited, and yes folks I found that southern hospitality that I love.  From the local sub shop, to hotel desk clerk, to the security guard at the BOK, smiling faces, helpful hints for the city, and people excited that I had hit the streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

I must confess the MOST exciting thing I got to do was see Lady Antebellum at the BOK.  Not only 2-thumbs up to the BOK for having an amazing performance hall (it is beautiful), but 2-thumbs up to Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, and Thompson Square for putting on an AMAZING show!  If they are in a city near you, this show is worth the $$$$, one of the best music performances I have seen.  If you are in Tulsa and have not seen a show at the BOK, then WHY NOT, this performance center is perfectly laid out, so that no matter where you are sitting you have an amazing view!

Make Valentine's Dates Unique in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Good Morning Folks,

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share a unique place to make Valentine’s Day special.  Gentlemen, I know us ladies put the work all on you, so I am going to help you out here and share a unique place to surprise your special lady with.  Ladies, I have publicly confessed my dear husband is an all time FAIL at Valentine’s Day, so I have taken it into my own hands to plan our Valentine’s Day sweet escape!  I  HIGHLY suggest that if you have the same issue; I am sure your hubby will happily hand over the date night planning to you.

I have just returned from a whirlwind trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma; if you have not been there then you should visit.  I am so accustomed to the hillside views of our Missouri countryside, but was blown away with what Oklahoma had to offer me…AMAZING!  I had the unique opportunity to visit two extraordinary museums inside Tulsa Oklahoma, today I am going share with you a few of my thoughts about Gilcrease Museum of Arts.   Here's a Hint….I want to go back!

Breathtaking Views and a Delightful Lunch….
Gilcrease Museum of Art;  both indoor and outdoor, this place will leave you in awe.  From the moment, I entered the parking lot of Gilcrease Museum I knew I was in for a treat.  Nestled in the Osage Hills, the view from the dining hall was so spectacular I could barely focus to eat…normally that is not a challenge for me.  The Restaurant at Gilcrease is open Tuesday thru Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm, and offers a traditional Sunday brunch.

The Breathtaking Views inside the Museum….
It is no lie that I am no art “expert”, I do certainly love art, but unlike most people that frequent art galleries,  it is for the scenery. When visiting an art gallery, I want to look at the art and imagine myself there, imagine if I was there what would I be doing, how would I feel.  On my visit Gilcrease Museum of Art, my unique taste for art was entirely satisfied.  With a long Native American ancestry, I have always wondered what life must have been like for my Great Grandfather and his family.  On my tour of Gilcrease Museum, I had the opportunity to satisfy my curiosity with many traditional and modern pieces of Native American art and artifacts.
Gilcrease Museum of Art’s collection is an art collection of the Americas featuring artist such as William Robinson Leigh, Charles Marion Russell, Charles Schreyvogel, and many others.  With over 10,000 peices in the collection you are sure to find something that catches your eye.
